A Journey Through Southern Africa

Zimbabwe & Botswana2 – 11 August 2027 9 nights Max 6
Guided by Amy Krantz

Join Amy Krantz on an unforgettable WildEarth adventure through the wild heart of Southern Africa as we explore three of the continent's most celebrated wilderness areas: Hwange National Park and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

This safari is particularly special as it marks Amy's first journey to the Hwange National Park and the Okavango Delta. Together, we will experience the excitement of discovery as we venture into landscapes that have inspired travellers, naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts for generations.

Our journey begins at Camp Hwange, a camp perfectly positioned around a busy waterhole that attracts a remarkable diversity of wildlife throughout the day and into the night. Few safari experiences compare to spending time in the camp's renowned log pile hides as elephants, buffalo and a variety of plains game approach the water just metres away. These intimate, eye-level encounters provide exceptional photographic opportunities and unforgettable moments in the African bush.

Along the way, we will visit the magnificent Victoria Falls, one of the natural wonders of the world and an iconic gateway to Southern Africa's wilderness. During our stay, guests will experience this remarkable destination from every angle with a scenic helicopter flight over the Falls, a guided walk to witness the power of the cascading water up close, a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and an unforgettable dinner aboard a train.

From Hwange we travel onwards to the Okavango Delta and the beautiful wilderness surrounding Karangoma. Here, the safari experience extends well beyond traditional game drives. Depending on seasonal water levels, guests may explore the Delta's channels by mokoro or boat, venture into the bush on guided walks, search for nocturnal wildlife on night game drives and spend evenings beneath some of Africa's clearest skies enjoying spectacular stargazing.

Hosted and privately guided throughout by Amy, this journey has been designed for travellers who value authentic experiences, meaningful wildlife encounters and the camaraderie that develops when sharing remarkable places with like-minded adventurers.

We invite you to join us on this remarkable journey through Southern Africa and to experience some of the finest wildlife destinations the continent has to offer.

Where You’ll Stay

Camp Hwange

Hwange National Park · Zimbabwe

Photo 1

A rustic, traditional camp of 8 canvas-walled units beneath cooling thatch, Camp Hwange overlooks one of the natural waterholes that make this part of Hwange National Park special. Founded in 2010 by a well-known professional guide, Camp Hwange’s location is strategic. This private concession in the central part of Hwange lies between the rugged mopane woodlands to the north and the sandy soil teak forests to the south-west; it’s location here on this open savannah ecotone means that game viewing is as diverse as its habitat types. Aside from fantastic game viewing, especially in the drier months from April through to November, Camp Hwange offers an excellent guided experience with a strong emphasis on walking and tracking.

Kabakwe Lodge

Victoria Falls · Zimbabwe

At Kabakwe Lodge, a stay is defined by refined comfort, thoughtful design, and a genuine connection to Victoria Falls. Set within a tranquil garden, this elegant retreat sits just moments from one of the world's most extraordinary natural wonders.

Kabakwe reflects the rhythm of life in Victoria Falls: relaxed yet considered, welcoming yet discreet, deeply rooted in place. Exceptional hospitality lies in the details. With a hands-on team, intuitive service, and a genuine passion for the destination, the lodge curates an experience that feels personal, seamless, and quietly memorable. Whether guests are here to explore, unwind, or restore, Kabakwe Lodge offers a setting where they feel both cared for and at ease.

The elegantly appointed rooms combine contemporary African design with modern amenities, creating a sophisticated, restful space to recharge. Each one opens onto the lodge's peaceful gardens, a calm haven after days spent at the Falls or out on safari.

Designed for the discerning traveler, Kabakwe Lodge balances comfort, quality, and understated luxury. Plush bedding, fresh interiors, and a serene atmosphere throughout ensure every stay feels both elevated and welcoming.

Karangoma

Okavango Delta · Botswana

Photo 1

Located in the northern section of NG12, with roughly 30 000ha of traversing area, Karangoma boasts a beautiful and productive overlap of Botswana’s northern woodlands (mopane and teak) with a mosaic of floodplains, lagoons and channels typical of the Okavango Delta. Bisecting the area is the arterial Makwegqana Channel, a crystal clear distributary of the Okavango that ultimately becomes the Selinda Spillway. The camp itself is located on a forested peninsula reaching out into the seasonally inundated floodplains. Karangoma means “drum beating, ancestral healing, or when one is ill, cure dancing’. Today it is a connection with nature that is the most important healer.
