Taj & Tiger Safari

India24 February – 5 March 2027 9 nights Max 6
Guided by James Hendry & Amy Krantz

This ten-day journey moves from the bustling intensity of Delhi to the Mughal grandeur of Agra, before shifting into mystical landscapes of Ranthambore National Park in search of the mighty Bengal tiger.

You arrive in India’s capital with VIP assistance and settle into your hotel before exploring the city in depth—ceremonial, wide-avenue vistas of Lutyens’ Delhi, the historic weight of Humayun’s Tomb, and the dense, spice-laden lanes of Old Delhi experienced by rickshaw and on foot. The day closes with high tea in a restored haveli.

From here, you travel to Agra, where the surreal Taj Mahal takes centre stage at both sunrise and sunset, revealing its changing light and detail. You also visit Agra Fort and quieter Mughal sites that offer a more measured, reflective perspective on the empire at its height.

You then head to Ranthambhore for three full days of safari. Early mornings and late afternoons are spent tracking tigers and other wildlife by private jeep through rugged, fortress-studded terrain, dry teak forests, and lake-dotted wilderness. Between drives, you have time to rest and absorb the setting.

You return to Delhi for a final night before departure, completing a journey that balances culture, history, and wildlife with clarity and purpose.

Where You’ll Stay

The Imperial

Delhi · India

Photo 1

The Imperial New Delhi is one of India’s defining heritage hotels, set on an eight-acre estate in the heart of the capital and operating since 1936. Its architecture blends Victorian, Art Deco, and Lutyens’ influences, creating a strong sense of place rooted in the colonial era. Interiors are rich with marble colonnades, antiques, and a museum-quality art collection spanning thousands of original works.

Rooms and suites overlook landscaped gardens, offering a sense of calm that contrasts with the city outside. Dining is a serious focus, with multiple restaurants ranging from refined Indian to Italian and Southeast Asian cuisine.. The Imperial is a benchmark for old-world luxury in Delhi—formal, historic, and quietly assured rather than showy.

Taj View

Agra · India

Photo 1

Taj View, Agra is a contemporary heritage-style hotel set within six acres of landscaped gardens, offering a calm retreat in close proximity to the Taj Mahal. Many of its rooms and suites look directly toward the monument, giving it a sense of place without the intensity of being on top of it.

The design draws on Mughal elements—arches, domes, and marble inlay—interpreted in a lighter, more modern way.  Service is polished but relaxed, allowing for an easy, supremely comfortable stay.

Khem Villas

Ranthambore National Park · India

Photo 1

Khem Villas offers a small, deliberately simple set of facilities: an open-sided dining area serving vegetarian, largely homegrown cuisine; a relaxed lounge and library space; and a modest spa for basic treatments. There’s a natural swimming pool and several quiet sitting areas overlooking waterholes and grassland. The focus is on space, privacy, and immersion, with safari vehicles, walking trails, and birding on the property forming the core of the experience.

Roseate House

Delhi · India

Photo 1

Roseate House New Delhi is a contemporary, design-led hotel in Aerocity, just minutes from the airport, offering a modern counterpoint to the city’s heritage properties.

Its 216 rooms and suites are sleek and well-appointed, with clean lines, natural materials, and a focus on comfort and connectivity. The atmosphere is lively and urban, with multiple restaurants, a rooftop infinity pool, and the private cinema-style Upstage theatre adding a social edge.

Wellness centres on the Aheli Spa, while service is efficient and discreet, suited to both business and leisure travellers. Overall, it’s a smart, well-executed option—contemporary, convenient, and quietly stylish.
