Kobe Mara
Kobe Mara is a boutique safari camp in the greater Maasai Mara, unfenced and set right on the edge of the national reserve with immediate access through the quiet Zebra Barrier gate. Expect abundant wildlife nearby, golden sunsets, and a calm, private setting that feels closely tied to the landscape.
The Kobe House experience is an exclusive bush villa for up to nine guests, family friendly and designed with a love for nature. It offers four bedrooms, four ensuite bathrooms, and a generous living space with a kitchen, bar, dining area, and a cosy fireplace. Outside, the veranda is made for slow meals and long evenings, with lounge seating, open-air dining, a fire pit, BBQ, and a waterhole within view. Starlink WiFi is included, and private dining can be prepared by dedicated chefs.
For guests staying in tented accommodation, Kobe Mara also offers spacious two-person safari tents with a king or queen bed, an ensuite bathroom, and a hot water shower. Each tent has outdoor and semi-outdoor dining areas, safari chairs, a fire pit, and Starlink WiFi, with a self-cooking kitchenette available on request and an optional extra single bed subject to availability.
Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & The Golden Hour
Upon your arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by your expert private guide. The adventure begins immediately with a “welcome game drive” as you head toward the house, catching your first glimpses of the Mara’s abundant wildlife.
- Settle In: Arrive at Kobe Mara, where the staff will help you unpack and settle into your private sanctuary.
- Afternoon Game Drive: After a light lunch, head out for your first official drive in your private vehicle to track the Big Cats as they begin their evening hunt.
- Welcome Dinner: Return to the house for a multi-course dinner prepared by your chef, enjoyed under the stars or in the elegant dining area.
Day 2: Into the Wild
Today is about immersing yourselves in the beat of the savannah. With a private vehicle, your schedule is entirely flexible, you can stay out as long as you like.
- Sunrise Safari: A dawn departure offers the best chance to see predators in action. Enjoy a bush breakfast spread in a scenic spot surrounded by the vast plains.
- Mid-Day Relaxation: Return to the house to escape the heat. Relax by the pool or enjoy the views from the deck while your lunch is prepared.
- Sunset Drive & BBQ: Head out for an afternoon safari, concluding with “sundowners” in the bush. Return to the house for a festive traditional BBQ (Braai) on the terrace.
Day 3: Exploration & Bush Immersion
On your final full day, you might choose to venture further into the reserve or visit a specific area of interest, such as the riverbanks or a nearby rhino sanctuary.
- Morning Game Drive: Seek out any species still on your “must-see” list with your guide.
- Leisurely Afternoon: Enjoy a slow lunch at the house. You might choose to take a guided nature walk around the property to learn about the smaller details of the ecosystem.
- Farewell Dinner: Your final evening drive is followed by a celebratory farewell dinner, customized to your group’s favorite dishes from the trip.
Day 4: A Final Farewell
Make the most of your last morning in the Maasai Mara before your journey home.
- Final Game Drive: A shorter morning drive to say goodbye to the landscape.
- Breakfast & Departure: Enjoy a hearty final breakfast at the house before your private vehicle transfers you back to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi.
